Chapter 23 Adventurer Team
"That's it?"
Hela frowned, somewhat confused.
"A war that lasted for twenty-five years, and this is the final outcome?"
Roland shrugged and explained.
"The war has lasted too long, and both sides have become war-weary. The Kingdom of Inter is unstable internally, and although the Silver Empire is relatively stable internally because it is a defensive war, they still have to face the menacing green tide from Donnar."
"Negotiation is the common goal of both parties. As for this political marriage, it is only for the Silver Empire to maintain internal unity. After all, there are quite a few kings and dukes who stand on the side of King Inte."
Hila made a bitter face as she silently absorbed this information which was difficult for her to understand and extremely boring.
For most of her life so far, the world in her eyes was only the size of a tribe. But now she is asked to suddenly expand it to the situation between countries, which is a bit difficult.
Some general history is not particularly difficult to understand, but the rest is not that simple.
In particular, Roland asked her to remember the complicated etiquette and various cultural traditions of the Silver Empire.
She glanced at the thick etiquette books beside her and looked bitter.
"Just get a general idea of it. It's not difficult."
Roland looked at Hela in front of him, picked up one of the books and flipped through it to review, while laughing softly.
After Roland turned a few pages, he closed the book and looked in a direction outside the carriage.
"Are there any enemies? Let me go."
After noticing Roland's actions, Hela quickly raised her head and said.
"It's just a group of fifteen adventurers. They may not be enemies."
Roland looked into the distance, shook his head, and continued.
"However, we should still remain vigilant. There are five first-ring warriors and a mage apprentice. It is very likely that he is a wild mage apprentice."
After hearing Roland's words, Hela immediately stood up, left a few words, picked up her staff and walked out of the car.
"I'll go outside and watch."
Watching Hela fleeing in panic, Roland lowered his head to look at the book in his hand and shook his head helplessly.
Just a few books, not even as complicated as the spell model, is it that serious?
In the dense forest, a team of adventurers was hurrying along with their prey.
While running, several hunters turned their heads to look at the sky nervously, as if something was chasing them.
The relatively weak mage apprentice did not complain and gritted his teeth to keep up with the team.
As an eagle's cry sounded from high in the sky, the faces of all the adventurers in the team changed drastically and their pace suddenly quickened.
Just as they passed through a patch of grass, two horses were moving forward slowly. Hela sat behind them, holding a staff in her hand, and glanced at them casually.
After noticing Hela's gaze, the mage apprentice in the adventurer team subconsciously took a few steps back, but the others did not have such a reaction.
They briefly glanced at Hela, and although a few adventurers had ferocious looks on their faces, they hurried away again after hearing another eagle cry.
The only mage apprentice who knew Hela's strength saw that she had no reaction, so he hurriedly caught up with the rest of the team.
Hela ignored them and looked up at the sky.
In less than a minute, with a violent sound of breaking through the air, two one-meter-long eagles swooped down from the sky.
Extraordinary creature.
Hela looked at the two eagles floating in front of her with interest.
This was the first time she had seen a supernatural creature. Sinnar was indeed a rich land. Unlike the North, it could not support many supernatural creatures, so she had not encountered any supernatural creatures in the North.
The eagle with a ring on its head circled the carriage a few times, and the frequency of its calls became higher and higher.
After hesitating for a while, one of the eagles finally overwhelmed the fear in its heart and took the initiative to pounce on Hela.
Just as Hela was about to cast a spell, a green light flew out from beside her and shot into the eagle's body.
Roland walked out of the carriage, his eyes flickering with a faint light, and cast his words into the spirit of the eagle. He looked at the eagle who had calmed down in front of him and spoke calmly.
"Your child is not in my hands. I don't want to kill you. Get out of here."
The eagle looked at Roland, and finally, under the effect of the spell, it believed what Roland said.
It chirped once, then took off into the air with his wife. High in the sky, they tore each other's wings with their sharp claws and used their blood to re-lock the direction of their offspring.
Afterwards, the eagle cried out to Roland to express its gratitude, and then took his wife and rushed towards the direction where the adventurer team fled.
Hela looked at the direction where the two eagles disappeared and asked Roland thoughtfully.
"So, the reason why that group of adventurers was so hurried and nervous just now was because they stole their child?"
"Ah."
Roland nodded and responded.
"Why let them go? They are just extraordinary creatures with two rings on their heads. Even if you don't take action, I can deal with them, right?"
Hela turned her head to look at Roland and asked.
"Why kill them?"
Roland asked back.
Hela was a little confused.
"Because they are the enemy of mankind."
Roland said casually in response to Haila's puzzled gaze.
“Hela, who do you think is right and who is wrong between the adventurer who stole the heir and the eagle who came to hunt him down?”
After hearing Roland's words, Hela fell into deep thought.
After thinking for a while, she raised her head and said with a frown.
"The adventurers were at fault. If they hadn't stolen the eggs, they wouldn't have been hunted down."
"So, is that why you let them go?"
Roland didn't answer and continued to ask.
"If, I mean if."
"If those adventurers stole the eggs because they had to make a living, or because they wanted to save their dying family members, do you think they were wrong?"
Hela pursed her lips and whispered.
"If it's for survival"
Roland said slowly.
"From the adventurers' perspective, everything they do is for survival. The wealth brought by an egg of a supernatural creature is enough for them to take risks. You are also from a tribe, so you should be aware of the survival difficulties of ordinary people."
"From the eagle's perspective, they only want to save their offspring. Even if they encounter an enemy like us that they cannot defeat, they will not back down for the sake of their children, even if it means death."
Listening to Roland's words, Hela bit her lower lip, feeling a little confused.
Looking at Hela, Roland asked.
“Hela, what is our current identity?”
Hela raised her head and looked at Roland.
"We are the people without states, the wild mages."
"From our perspective, no matter if they are adventurers or eagles, everything about them has nothing to do with us. I let them go only because I want to."
“If you want to kill them, that’s fine. But, Hela, I hope you know why you want to kill them before you do so.”
"I hope you can learn to think. The advantage of a spellcaster is wisdom. Don't be swayed by the knowledge in books. You should have your own thoughts."
“Hela, remember, think more.”
