Chapter 2 A baby dragon built a nest in the Novice Village

Chapter 2 A baby dragon built a nest in the Novice Village
"The forest over there seems nice."

Ferry found a spot that looked good and prepared to land.

Then he saw some of the trees below him move.

"Oh my god, a giant tree man!"

Fary quickly flapped his wings to regain altitude. A giant tree man was not something a young dragon like Fary could handle, let alone a group of them. If he had reacted a little slower, he would have been lying in the forest, waiting to be turned into fertilizer for the tree men.

"That's close. Let's go look somewhere else."

Fortunately, the tree people had no means of long-range attack, and they couldn't do anything about Farui in the air.

Fari flapped his wings, slipped away with a hint of fear, and flew to another line of defense.

"There are three powerful auras in that city, so it's better to stay away from them."

Fari tilted his body and changed his course to avoid the huge coastal city ahead.

"Are you really going to live in the swamp?"

"There's a giant soul-devouring bird over there, and it's something we can't afford to mess with."

Fary, who was once again driven away by the giant's stones, had to think seriously about this problem.

Fari flapped his wings and continued to fly forward.

But when he thought of himself lying in the swamp, letting the wet mud flow through his scales, Fari shuddered.

There didn't seem to be any strong people in the small village at the foot of the mountain, only on the high mountain next to it, there seemed to be a little fluctuation of magical power.

Fari adjusted his posture and dived towards the fluctuation of magic power.

Either they are monsters that cannot be defeated, or they are large human settlements guarded by strong people.

Along the way, Fari has discovered several good nesting sites, but these nesting sites are already occupied.

"Am I confused because I flew too long? Or is there a trap?"

The source of the mana fluctuations seemed to be a wizard, who also seemed to have noticed Fari's presence. Soon, the wizard was sure that the dragon in the sky was looking for trouble with him.

More than ten days passed, and Farui did not find any place to build a nest except a swamp with a foul smell.

Just as Fary was about to turn around and fly back to the swamp, he noticed a small mountain below him.

Just one day after changing course, a creature that Fari couldn't afford to offend appeared in front of him, and he was forced to change course again.

At the foot of the mountain, there is a small village where traces of humans can be seen. The concentration of magic power is also appropriate, making it a pretty good place to build a nest. As long as a young dragon like Farui can sleep a little longer in such a place, his strength will be significantly improved.

"Strange, why didn't I notice this place before."

Dragons have very developed senses. Normally, Farui can see the appearance of humans ten kilometers away and hear their conversations. But just now, he didn't notice a mountain.

The fluctuation of mana is not strong, it is at a level that I can handle.

Fari circled cautiously in the air for a few times and found nothing unusual.

Two days passed in a flash. The reality before him made Fary ready to bow his head. This continent seemed to be very large, with a lot of vacant land, but in fact, any slightly better place was occupied by powerful monsters or forces, which was not something a young dragon like him could get involved in.

"Let's look for another two days. There is still some food left from the blue dragon."

After a brief panic, spells began to take shape around the wizard and flew towards the young dragon in mid-air.

An energy arrow hit Fari who was unable to dodge it, but it only made a weak snapping sound before dissipating into the air.

"Necromancer?"

The spell failed to penetrate Farui's dragon scales. Seeing that the opponent seemed unable to break his defense, he suddenly gained confidence and dived towards the target at an accelerated speed.

With a loud bang, Fari landed heavily in front of the mage, landing on his face.

A strange silence fell. The Necromancer had not expected the dragon's landing to be so "unique" and was stunned for a moment.

"Pah, pah, pah." Fary struggled to stand up again and spat out the dirt in his mouth.

"We need to find some time to practice landing."

In the past hundred years, Farui has been doing nothing but eating and sleeping. The number of serious flights he has had is probably only half of that of other young dragons. He is indeed not very skilled in takeoff and landing, and accidents like this happen occasionally.

The Necromancer also came to his senses and waved his staff. A group of skeletons and zombies poured out from the cave behind him and surrounded Farui.

However, for a dragon, even a young dragon, the attacks of these ordinary skeletons are no more than tickling. No, it should be worse than tickling. At least tickling can cause skin breakage if you are not careful.

The necromancer did not expect that these skeletons and zombies could kill a baby dragon. While his undead creatures were blocking Fary, he turned and ran into the cave behind him.

Fari followed in slowly. This mage was not very strong, and Fari was very interested in what tricks he could play.

He could feel the undead energy in the cave, which was not a power that the little wizard in front of him could control.

At the end of the cave, the Necromancer appeared in front of Fari again, but Fari's eyes were not on him.

A gem flashing with black light completely attracted Fari's attention. It was a magic gem, which could be exchanged for at least several thousand gold coins outside. It was spread on the ground, and that was Fari's bed.

"What are you going to do with my bed?"

And now, this gem is placed on an altar, and the altar is surrounded by corpses. The magic power in the magic gem is flowing to the center of the altar. As time goes by, the value of this magic gem will decrease by a few gold coins with every second.

Fari rushed forward angrily and grabbed the necromancer with one claw.

"Resurrection, Black Knight..."

The necromancer wanted to shout something, but Farui strangled him.

The light of the magic circle went out.

"You also want to summon the Black Knight. That's a nice thought."

Farui dropped the necromancer's body.

If the necromancer really summoned the Black Knight, it would be a bit troublesome. Although it can be dealt with, it is inevitable that I will suffer some minor injuries.

More importantly, the magic gem will run out of magic power and turn into a worthless stone.

"It doesn't matter. The wizard has been strangled anyway. Here comes my gold coin."

Fari gently picked up the magic gem on the altar. Even in the dark cave, the gem emitted a dark light.

"But where can I exchange this for gold coins?"

Although the gem is attractive, a young dragon like Farui still needs more gold coins to decorate the nest. Now, he needs to consider how to turn this gem into thousands of gold coins.

"Forget it, let's get some sleep first. Maybe I'll have a solution when I wake up."

A wave of sleepiness came over Fari.

He has been flying in the sky for almost a month and is really tired now.

"Oh, did I overlook something?"

This was his last thought before he fell into a deep sleep.

He indeed overlooked a question: how could a not-so-powerful necromancer occupy such a good nesting location?

From a perspective that Fari couldn't see, there were three big words on the top of the village: "Novice Village".

This place is the novice village chosen by the gods, and it is where the protagonist of the story begins his adventure. Under the power of the true God, truly powerful monsters cannot discover this place.

If Farui was a normal young dragon that would follow his parents to hunt and improve his strength, he would not be able to discover this novice village at the last moment.

But anyway, a baby dragon built a nest in the novice village.
