Chapter 39: Prelude to the End
In the deepest part of the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons', Morais was sitting on the high throne.
However, his face did not look as imposing and majestic as before. Instead, it looked a little gray, with sunken eye sockets, and he was missing an arm. This showed that the battle just now had some impact on him.
But even so, the people under the throne still bowed their heads respectfully, waiting for his orders.
Most of them are priests who stay in the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons' to keep the magic circle running. Morais will never allow them to leave the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons' until the last moment.
Morais glanced at the twelfth magic pillar and felt a little relieved. Although the battle outside was fierce, it did not affect the magic circle's absorption of the soul resentment in the stone pillar. Everything was still functioning normally.
"I think you all know what happened just now, so there is no need for me to waste my words on it."
"What I want to say is that the vampire was not destroyed, but was temporarily sealed by me using the demon-suppressing scroll left by that master to open the 'Absolute Black Domain' underground. However, according to my estimation, even the 'Absolute Black Domain' can only seal the vampire for a few days at most."
Ignoring his wavering subordinates, Morais asked the man in the middle below: "High Priest, I ask you, if the soul resentment is enough, can the passage be opened in one day?"
"It's enough." The high priest answered confidently: "The amount of soul resentment accumulated over the past thousand years is already quite astonishing. We only need to add the final dose, and that lord will definitely be able to sense it."
"Well, you have never let me down." Morais was satisfied with the high priest's answer.
"The Starlight Business in Rose Lowe is about to auction off a divine relic. Thanks to the divine relic, the number of people in Rose Lowe has almost doubled. As long as we perform a blood sacrifice in this city, I think we should be able to gather enough soul resentment."
"More than enough." The high priest replied calmly.
"What about the preparations for the beast-summoning flute and demon-summoning horn?"
"Reporting to the leader, Lord Mo... Lord Mosley has already arranged everything. Most of the monsters and subhumans in the Sloda Forest have been controlled, and those 'big guys' have surrendered." The one who replied to Morales was one of the three magicians who survived the battle with the vampire progenitor. He continued, "The magic power required for the Demon Summoning Horn is too huge. It requires the combined efforts of three people. So if a war breaks out, I'm afraid we won't be able to rush to the battlefield. Please forgive me, leader."
"Is that so..." Morales paused for a moment after hearing Mosley's name. Others couldn't see his expression, but his voice didn't fluctuate much. He said to the three magicians, "These are not things worth worrying about. You just need to ensure that the magic power of the Demon Summoning Horn is not interrupted."
"Yes!" The three of them lowered their heads and responded to Morais.
"Although we have just experienced some setbacks, this does not mean anything. Over the past thousand years, Apocalypse has encountered countless disasters that could be called catastrophic, but under the perseverance of successive leaders, we have overcome them all. That is why we have come this far. Our long-cherished wish is about to be fulfilled. When that lord comes, it will be the time for us to reach the peak!"
There was an inexplicable fanaticism in Morais' eyes.
The remaining people in Apocalypse seemed to be infected by him, and they came out of the trough after being hit by the vampire progenitor and began to work in an orderly manner.
Looking at his men who had regained their spirits, Morais nodded slightly and muttered to himself, "Tomorrow is the auction time for the divine relic, so let Rose Lowe welcome his last sunset then."
Outside the door of the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons', the magic circle that had been protecting the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons' had been removed. After being attacked by the vampire progenitor, the main core of the magic circle had been destroyed. Even if it was reluctantly activated, it would not have the original effect, but would instead waste magic power. Therefore, Morais simply removed the magic circle.
After night fell, the roars of monsters could be heard one after another. Morais stood on the top of the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons', looking at the densely packed green eyes of monsters, and nodded slightly.
This time almost all the power of Revelation was mobilized. Only five of the six 'Beast Summoning Flutes' remained, plus its prototype 'Demon Summoning Horn', the number of monsters controlled exceeded ten thousand. With such a force destroying Rose Lowe should not take even half a day. If everything goes well, that adult will be able to arrive by this time tomorrow night.
Thinking of this, Morais couldn't help but tremble, trembling with anticipation, trembling with happiness, and trembling with pride.
Over the past thousand years, this 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons' has experienced so many twists and turns. Two generations of leaders rebelled because of their ideas, and another generation of leaders was actually an undercover agent of a certain country. Fortunately, when the Lord created the Book of Revelation, he stipulated that the leaders and the high priests must not leave a certain area around the 'Temple of Ten Thousand Demons' for life, so that the Book of Revelation has been preserved time and time again in disasters until today. Let alone others, even Morales himself has put in countless efforts. In this transcendental demon palace, he has repeatedly intrigued with the human empire, the Holy See, and the alien races, carefully collecting soul resentment, and taking care of the operation of the entire organization. To be honest, if he was not so powerful and strong-willed, he would have died of exhaustion long ago.
Decades of hard work have finally paid off. As long as that adult comes, resurrection magic will be no problem at all, and Mosley's resurrection shouldn't be a big problem.
Thinking of this, Morais gazed into the distance, at the remote city.
"For our sake, this will be the last killing in this life!"
……
"So many people..." Luo Qiu stared blankly at the entrance of Starlight Trading Company.
There was already a long queue there, which turned seven or eight corners, but even so it still stretched to the other side of the street.
“Why is it necessary to be so exaggerated? It’s just an auction.” Luo Qiu really broadened his horizons.
"This is the Starlight Commercial Bank's grand auction, and this time there are legendary divine relics. Even at the head office's auction, you may not see treasures of this level once in your lifetime. Of course, everyone wants to come and broaden their horizons. If you can't even figure out such a simple truth, you are indeed a third-rate adventurer."
After the commentary, Xia did not forget to despise Luo Qiu.
"Okay, so what? Do we still have to go and queue up?" Looking at the line, Luo Qiu's forehead was squeezed into the shape of a "川".
He extremely disliked queuing, and the limit of his tolerance was a queue of more than a dozen people. As for a queue of thousands of people, he would be too lazy to join in the auction of a god's relics, let alone the goddess's relics.
If he really had to queue, Luo Qiu planned to just rush in. Anyway, no one here could stop him.
Although this is against the rules, who cares? Not taking a shortcut is a mentally ill act.
"We don't have to queue up like those people. Starlight Trading Company has opened a door specifically for those of us who have received invitations. We can go in from there."
Xia pulled Luo Qiu to a slightly remote door.
"There is actually an exclusive VIP channel." Luo Qiu was speechless.
There are much fewer people here, only a dozen or so people queuing up. If you look closely, most of the people queuing up here are dressed in gorgeous clothes and have servants with them.
Well, it seems that Luo Qiu and Xia are like a couple who came to the auction with their servants.
At least that's what the waiter in charge of reception thought.
"Welcome Miss Xia to Starlight Trading Company. Please show us your invitation and that of your servant."
For some reason, Luo Qiu really wanted to punch the smiling waiter in the face.
