Chapter 95 Rescue
Fary was rummaging through his lair, preparing things to take back to Dragon Island.
It is important to show off one's wealth when returning to Dragon Island, as this will determine his status among the dragon clan to a certain extent.
Although it seems that this is just due to the dragons' natural pride and vanity, in history, most of the dragons with higher status eventually achieved greater strength.
"Forget about the gold coins. They are too cheap. I remember the goblins offered some gems as tribute."
Safrina pointed to the box next to Fari.
"It's all there."
"Oh, so it's here."
Fary turned around and began to pick and choose among the gems.
"In fact, if we talk about value..."
Savrina's eyes fell on the entrance of the lair, which had recently been upgraded with the sponsorship of the Chamber of Commerce. It had been replaced with a Farai statue made of gold and gems, and even had a glimmer spell attached to it, so that all the details on the statue could be seen even at night.
It just affects the sleep quality a little bit.
"That statue is probably the most valuable thing in this nest."
Farui pretended not to hear. He knew that thing was the most valuable thing in the nest, but it was too shameful to bring his own statue back to Dragon Island.
Perhaps for those dragons, having a statue made by others that can show their majestic figures is a matter of pride. But for Farui, whose mentality has not yet completely changed from that of an ordinary human, he still cannot accept this behavior.
Safrina was used to Fary's occasional annoyance. She could now vaguely guess what Fary was thinking.
"This statue demonstrates your influence on the mortals around you. Take it back to Dragon Island, and maybe the Council will look at you with new eyes."
Savrina suddenly wanted to tease Farri.
But what she said was not false. When she looked at the statue, she could feel a faint majesty.
This statue, originally a mortal object, was gradually becoming a holy statue, and some power of faith seemed to be entangled with it. A young dragon returned to Dragon Island for the first time and could bring its own holy statue with it. The old men on the Council would probably be shocked.
"You'd better stop joking with me."
Fari grumbled. He knew his own situation. Although he had been forced to work hard recently and his strength had improved a lot, he was still far behind the real King of Rolls like Safrina.
Under such circumstances, it would be too high-profile for him to carry his own statue back to Dragon Island.
The dragons are all proud, especially the scroll kings, who are all arrogant and proud. Even the so-called good dragons are friendly on the surface, but they are unwilling to obey anyone in their hearts. Seeing that the young dragon actually carried his statue back to Dragon Island, and it was Farui who only knew how to eat and sleep, those guys would more or less want to test Farui's quality.
If it were another dragon, it might still be thinking about how to defeat these guys who came to test their skills and establish its position among the new generation of dragons.
But Fari is different. He just wants to sleep on his pile of treasure.
Those guys who come to test his quality are all big troubles. He will never get involved with them if he can avoid it.
"Just be average. Don't be too bad to embarrass my mom, but don't be too high-profile either."
Fari picked out some gems and some low- to mid-level magic items and nodded. These treasures were very suitable for his current level. An eighth-level dragon would probably just rob human villages and towns, and the good things it could get were probably of this level.
Next, he just had to wait for the church to get rid of the last remnants of the undead civilization, and then he and Savrina would set off together and return to Dragon Island.
"It's strange, why would I want to go on the journey with her? I don't have any contract with the church."
Fari scratched his head. He hadn't realized that he was more or less accustomed to having Safrina by his side.
But there was no time for him to discover this now, his body was gradually fading.
"Soul contract, why at this time?" As soon as he finished speaking, Fari disappeared in the nest.
Reinhardt gasped and tried to stand up with the help of his sword.
Behind him, Ella had fallen into a coma, with three piercing wounds on her body, and was still bleeding. Krigo was also seriously injured and fell to the ground, with a wound diagonally cutting across half of his body, making him unable to move.
Reinhardt's surroundings were filled with the fruits of their battle, various undead creatures, and five blood heirs. These undead could never stand up again.
"Surprisingly."
Blood gushed out of Rangnick's broken arm, and soon a new arm was repaired.
"I seem to have some impression of the aura emanating from that sword. It was more than a thousand years ago, when our civilization had not yet collapsed."
Rangnick suddenly covered his head, as if trying hard to recall.
"No, why can't I remember where I felt this breath?"
Shaking his head, Rangnick threw the doubt out of his mind. The long sword was indeed very powerful as a soul weapon. After taking over the body of the warrior in front of him, it had the strength of level ten.
Moreover, he was quite clear about his fighting style and weaknesses as a vampire. If he had not created enough undead and had not gained the advantage of sneak attacks, he might have lost not a hand but his life.
But now, the possession of the sword has ended, and the forced use of power beyond his own limit has temporarily made Reinhardt unable to resist.
Rangnick walked up to Reinhardt, stretched out his hand, and prepared to break his neck.
puff.
This was not the sound of a broken neck. A severed hand flew past Rangnick's eyes. That was the hand he was about to use to break Reinhardt's neck.
It was not until then that he heard the sound of the wind blade.
Obscure dragon language sounded in the air, and rock spikes protruded from the ground. Rangnick flew backwards and narrowly avoided these rock spikes that were pointing directly at his vital points.
"This time the distance is about right."
Fary estimated in the air, and after confirming that his breath would not accidentally hurt Reinhardt and others, he opened his mouth.
Flames fell from the sky onto Rangnick.
The breath of an eighth-level dragon cannot directly kill a ninth-level vampire. The flames dissipated, and Lannick's figure appeared in Farui's sight.
Blood gushed from beneath Lannik's skin, repairing his broken arm and the severe burns caused by the dragon's breath.
This kind of body repair is not infinite. After each injury is repaired, Rangnick's aura will decline a lot.
"Damn dragon!"
Lannick glanced at Fary in the sky. After losing his blood magic, the vampire was no match for a dragon of a lower level than himself.
Without any hesitation, Rangnick turned and ran.
Fary glanced at the ground and gave up the pursuit.
Reinhardt and his group on the ground were barely hanging on, and when he came back he could only collect their bodies.
"This is the last time."
Fary slowly landed next to Reinhardt and the other two, and the light of the healing spell lit up.
