Chapter 167 The Origin of the Underground Church
"These completely crazy priests of the Sun God Cult can actually successfully preach."
Fari looked at Lei Ming who was not far away. The attack on him had stopped and Lei Ming was quietly treating his wounds. Fari did not deliberately release the dragon's might on him, but the degree of the naturally emitted might was not enough to make him lose his ability to move.
"We came to the High Priest to deal with those crazy Sun God believers."
In Fari's opinion, High Priest Lemming did look normal, not crazy. Reinhardt was also there, mentioning their purpose.
"I accepted Lania's mission to investigate the anomalies of the Sun God Cult."
Lanya is still in a coma and has not woken up yet. Under the current circumstances, there is no need for Reinhardt to lie to Fari. This shows that Lanya had already noticed the abnormality of the Sun God Cult quite early and had already responded.
Reinhardt is the person Lannia trusts the most, and he no longer has any affiliation with the kingdom. He is also strong enough and is the best candidate to conduct this investigation.
"Then I discovered that there was indeed something affecting these people who believed in the Sun God, and the weaker they were, the greater the impact seemed to be."
Reinhardt said this and turned to look at Lei Ming who was not far away. He had just bandaged his wound simply, but unfortunately he had used up all his magic powers and could only wait for his body to stop bleeding on its own.
Lemming noticed Reinhardt's gaze and waved at him.
No matter what the final result is, Reinhardt's appearance at least allowed him to live a little longer. Even for this, he had to wave his hand and express the most basic gratitude to Reinhardt.
"You mean that the people in the position of High Priest are not greatly affected."
Reinhardt nodded.
"This is also the reason why I want to find him. Now I only dare to believe that the clergy of the high priest's level can still remain sober."
Reinhardt's words made Farri frown.
According to the records of the dragons, this shows that the Sun God was not in a good condition. The sudden increase in the number of believers brought a common trend of thought to impact the Sun God himself, but the Sun God was obviously not prepared, lost his leading position, and was instead influenced by his own believers.
Thus, eliminating alien races became the will of the Sun God himself, and his will would affect other believers, so the entire Sun God cult began to be carried forward.
The wills of those low-level believers are not firm, and they are the ones most deeply influenced by the will of God. Among them are low-level crusaders, clergy, and priests with relatively weak strength.
The wills of high-ranking clergy are much stronger. Even if they are influenced by the gods, they can resist this influence to a certain extent and still maintain some of their own cognition and judgment abilities.
If one wants to solve this problem from top to bottom, it is a natural decision to go to these senior clergy.
But the problem is that once the lower classes are heavily influenced by the gods, even if the church leaders still maintain a certain level of rationality, they have no way to reverse the established trend of thought. In the end, they will gradually succumb to the will of their gods, and then, the god who cannot even maintain his true self will lose himself more and more, dragging his believers along with him, and rushing towards an extreme concept.
The final results of those mad gods were erased from those records. It seemed that Fary's current strength was not enough to touch those final results. However, Fary could still see the final comments and discussions of those dragons.
The dragons that left messages seemed to have reached a consensus that if the god and his believers entered a state of "resonance", then all conventional means would be unable to save the god.
The only way is to kill enough believers in a short period of time to interrupt the resonance of the Echo Wall.
But this action must be done very quickly, and even so, according to the calculations of those knowledgeable dragons, the probability that the god will eventually be able to rely on himself and return to normal is less than 10%.
Fary remembered the news brought by the goblins, that the Sun God Cult's crusaders were attacking the elves' forest. It seemed that this was an attempt by the church, and they did think that the number of believers should be reduced.
But humans are emotional creatures after all. Even after making such a ruthless decision, they still did not adopt the most efficient way, but simply gave them a suicide mission.
"We discovered that these extremely xenophobic Sun God believers seemed to have joined an underground church."
Reinhardt's voice could just be heard by High Priest Leming who was not far away. It was obvious that Reinhardt did it on purpose.
"That underground church even has its own baptism ceremony, which can convert ordinary people who believe in the Sun God Church into true believers."
Reinhardt's words made both Fari and Lemming frown.
"That shouldn't be the case. I have clearly rapidly expanded the number of believers in the principality. These believers have no hatred towards alien races and should be able to offset the impact of those believers."
Fary heard Laming muttering to himself.
The human race is indeed still too young, and their understanding of God is still very superficial. Judging from the way Laming and the church's top leaders handled the situation, they obviously understand that believers will have an influence on God, but they don't know how this influence is produced.
The thoughts of the believers will not offset each other. Fari has gained a few more believers recently, so he has some understanding of this.
The thoughts of these believers will actually enter the mind of the "God". Different, even opposite thoughts will ultimately bring about consequences that are completely different from what the church's top leaders expected. These opposite thoughts tear apart the brain of the God, who is already having trouble maintaining his self and whose thinking has become chaotic.
It now appears that the church's actions have had consequences, and they are of the worst kind.
"That underground church has taken control of the crusaders outside the Elven Forest. Through those crusaders, I found out the name of the leader of the underground church."
This was the purpose of Reinhardt's ex-husband's presence in the Crusader camp, the location of the underground church's headquarters and the identity of their leader.
"Kawut."
Leming knew this name. This was the name of the high priest who screened out those who were influenced by extreme ideas and sent them outside the Elf Forest.
